Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Svetlana Popova collects when you visit this website, book an appointment, receive permanent makeup services, or contact the studio, how that information is used, and with whom it is shared. By using the website or booking an appointment, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Permanent makeup services on this website are provided by Svetlana Popova, an individual permanent makeup artist operating as a sole proprietor. There is no separate company: the artist is personally responsible for the information described in this Policy.
The studio address, which is also the address for correspondence, is 595 Blossom Rd A, Rochester, NY 14610. Questions about this Policy go to popovapm9@gmail.com.
In this Policy, "we", "us" and "the studio" mean Svetlana Popova. "You" means a client, a website visitor, or another person whose information we handle.
Information you give us
We ask for information in order to schedule appointments, perform the procedure safely, and meet legal record-keeping obligations. What we collect depends on how you interact with us.
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address, and the messaging account you write from.
- Appointment details — the service booked, the date and time, notes from the consultation, and reference images of the shape or shade you would like.
- Photographs of the treatment area — photographs you send before the appointment so the artist can assess your current brows, lips, or eyelids, and photographs taken in the studio before and after the procedure.
- Health information — the medical conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, previous permanent makeup, and other information required by the consent form and by law before a permanent makeup procedure can be performed.
- Payment records — confirmation that a deposit or service fee was paid, and the transaction record. Payments are handled by Square, our booking and payment provider. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Your messages — the content of emails, text messages, form submissions, and messages sent through Instagram or WhatsApp.
Some of this information is required. Permanent makeup is performed on skin and carries medical contraindications, so if you decline to provide the health information requested on the consent form, we cannot perform the procedure.
Information collected automatically
When you visit this website, limited technical information is recorded automatically, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, and the time of the visit. This information is collected by our website hosting provider as part of operating the site.
We do not currently use any analytics service on this website. If we add one, this Policy will be updated before it begins collecting anything, and the information would be used in aggregate — to see which pages are useful and to fix problems — not to identify individual visitors.
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from services we use to run the studio, including:
- Square, the online booking and payment provider, which passes on your appointment details and payment confirmation
- the service that delivers this website's contact form to our email
- messaging and social platforms you choose to contact us through, such as WhatsApp or Instagram
- our website hosting provider
Information received this way is handled under this Policy. These services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
- perform the permanent makeup procedure safely and assess whether it is appropriate for you
- process deposits and payments
- answer your questions and communicate with you before and after the appointment
- send appointment reminders and, if you have asked for them, studio updates
- keep the records required by law and by our insurance
- resolve disputes and protect the studio's and our clients' legal rights
Photographs, reviews, and marketing
Photographs of the treatment area are taken and kept as part of your treatment record. That use is part of performing the service.
Never without your permission
Photographs are never published, posted on social media, or used in advertising without your separate written permission. Permission is asked for specifically, is not a condition of receiving the service, and can be withdrawn for future use at any time by writing to popovapm9@gmail.com. Where you have given permission, we may not be able to recall material already printed or already shared by others.
If you leave a review on a public platform, that review is public and can be read and quoted by anyone. We may quote a public review, but we use your name or your photograph in advertising only with your written permission.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number and tick the consent box on the contact form, we may send you text messages about your appointment — confirmations, reminders, and changes to the schedule.
Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of booking an appointment or receiving any service. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP, or by asking us in any other way. We do not sell or share phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing.
Health information
The health information on the consent form is collected because permanent makeup has medical contraindications, and because a record of what you told us before the procedure is needed if a question about your healing comes up afterwards.
The studio is not a medical practice, a hospital, or a health plan, and it is not a covered entity under HIPAA — so HIPAA does not apply to these records. They are handled under this Policy: kept only as long as required, accessible only to the artist, and disclosed only in the situations listed in Section 7.
Other websites
This website links to other websites, including the booking service, map services, and social platforms. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.
Children
Permanent makeup is not performed on anyone under 18 years of age under any circumstances. This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to popovapm9@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Security and how long we keep information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send health information through public social media posts.
We keep personal information only as long as needed: to provide the service, to keep the treatment and consent records required by law and by our insurance, and to resolve any dispute. After that it is deleted or destroyed.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
- ask us to correct information that is wrong
- ask us to delete information, where we are not required to keep it
- withdraw a permission you previously gave, including permission to use photographs
- stop receiving text messages or studio updates
To use any of these rights, write to popovapm9@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently or refuse service because you exercised a right.
Visitors outside the United States
The studio operates in New York State, and information is stored and processed in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information is transferred to the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law where you live.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the studio's practices or the law change. The updated version takes effect when it is posted on this page, and the date below shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be described in the text rather than made silently.
